Handcrafted Liqueurs - Tuscan Distillery VIP Tour and Authentic Tuscan Lunch
Discover Ancient Artisan Spirits and Savor a Traditional Tuscan Meal Overlooking Bolgheri Vineyards
€990.00
Experience a unique journey into the world of handcrafted Tuscan liqueurs at a small, family-run distillery in Castagneto Carducci on the South Tuscan coast. Meet Anna Maria and Nicola, the passionate owners who produce a limited quantity (only about 5,000 bottles per year) of exceptional liqueurs entirely by hand, following 19th-century recipes passed down through generations.
The highlight is the famous “Elixir of China,” a digestive made from cinchona bark pulverized by hand in an ancient bronze mortar to preserve its active ingredients. You’ll witness this traditional process and taste a range of other specialties, including the “Bitter Orange” liqueur made with bitter oranges from Count Gaddo della Gherardesca’s estate, the “Liquor of the Shepherd” (milk and lemon), and the “Gentian.”
After the distillery visit and tasting session, enjoy a full Tuscan lunch on a panoramic terrace overlooking the Bolgheri vineyards and the sea. The meal features local specialties such as wild boar, paired expertly with the distillery’s spirits and regional wines, allowing you to appreciate the digestive properties of these unique elixirs firsthand.
